As the title says: What is your favorite type of mouse pad, and which one do you currently use?
Do you like them small, big, huge, wide, rounded, square?
Do you use a $1 mouse pad from IKEA, a $30 pad for gamers or do you simply use your desk?

Non-shiny table surface or, if the table is shiny, a sheet of old paper.
I'm intrigued by glass as an option in the poll. Shiny surfaces confuse optical mice.

I have got a 3M Precise Mouse pad...its got a plastic but quite a rough surface, especially for ball mice but my Diamondback works perfectly on it. Quite slow gliding though.
-
Have not used a pad since the old trackball mice. The fake wood top of my desk has been fine for the opticals........
-
-
No mouse pad for me - both at home and at work the top of the desk works perfect with my optical Logitec mice!
-
I started to use mousepads to prevent wearing the finish off my desk and coffee table (laptop).
I use Steel Series QcK-mini (Lap #1, wife's Intellimouse Explorer), QcK (my lap, G9), and SX (desktop, G7). They're all excellent. -
Trackpoint! so I like a little red rubber dot as my mousepad.
-
I like the $5 Staples Mousepad I got today. Makes my G5 feel like it's on ice skates.
-
I voted "other" I don't use one unless I feel like I need to...Otherwise if I wanted to to use one, it would be the thin type, with skid free bottom..someone gave as a gift

I use a gaming mousepad that can be used both sides: one for speed and one for control. It's a Rocketfish.
-
Rocketfish is Best Buy's (also Future Shop) exclusive brand name. I almost bought one of those pads but I heard that the control side ate through mice feet fairly quickly.
-
I use my desk. The surface is this honey oak veneer coated with plastic, which is kind of like a matte photo.
-
I've exclusively used Ratpadz for years. Whenever I use any other kind of mousepad, I remember why I don't buy anything else.
-
a standard generic 20c mouse pad for me. i am a cheapskate and won't pay for something that has just been marketed well.
-
Gel mouse pad for me.
-
-
Razer Exactmat here - I like the fact that it's just so very... solid.
-
Ive got the belkin with the gel under the wrist one. It's nice for extended use.
-
I prefer a medium Sized Rounded one. i spent arounf $5 for it at Wal-Mart. I only use it when i put the laptop on my lap though, because i dont want to scratch up the palmrest. if its on the table or something, ill usually just use that surface. Exept, it doesnt work on my black coffee table or on a glass table.

any old book i can find lying about
-
How much would you guys pay for a mouse pad?
-
Same here bud. Got a deal with it with my copperhead so decided to give it a shot. It's served me pretty well, and the wrist guard is perfect height and firmness / softness. Not too mushy and not too tough. -
-
I just use my desk.

Personally I find cloth pads to become too worn out and too warm on the wrist.
-
I've only owned very few mousepads. My fave surface for my mouse has always been the surface of the table (normally wood, occasionally plastic). I wipe the table surface and bottom of the mouse once a week. Pretty smooth i'd say.

World of Warcraft mousepad thing...
I'm not going to lie, I love WoW, but I bought it because it was the only wide mousepad they had. -
Im looking for a new mouse pad. Thought I should get suggestions here. I dont want cloth. Prefer plastic/glass/metal. Currently looking only at steelseries (hard to find anything else in japan).
I am a G5 user who moves the mouse minimally (an inch or so each way)
Thanks -
I got free mouse pads and used those but I've never had a problem with the surface of the desk.
