-

Mx518 FOR THE WIN. wish i had the G5 though...customizable weights makes it sooo much better....
-
I like my G9, which I just got a little while ago. Good size for my hands and I like that I can change the shape at will depending on my mood or other people's preferences who also use it; love the wide grip's feel, feels like it was custom made for my hands. From the aesthetics department, it's probably one of the most ugliest mice I've laid eyes on (surprising considering it's a Logitech product), but I like that it's somewhat unique looking with the wide grip. Anyway that's just my two cents.
-
I say the new Razer Lachesis. I don't own it but my brother does and I use it every once in awhile. Although I just ordered a Deathadder and will probably update this post when it arrives.
-
I had a MX518 for several years. It fits like a glove. But the "on-top-buttons" became poor after some time. To be able to click on them I had to push so hard I did get marks on my fingers.
Anyway, one month ago I became tired of not being able to use the extra "on-top-buttons", so I bought a Razer Lachesis. First I considered a Logitech G9 but I wanted to test something completely new, and I must say I love the Razer mouse. The mouse it self isn't as glued to your had as a MX518, but I like using the "fingertip-crip" / "claw-grip" instead of laying your entire hand as dead on the mouse. The buttons are perfect! and I like the looks. The software is messy, but after you get used to it I think it's nice.

The MX518 is a great mouse. I own three (one for each desktop, including a Mac), and I'm not even a gamer. LOL
My son bought a 518 a couple of years ago to use when he played games on my machine. I liked how it felt and that it tracked so much better than the wireless MX1000 I had been using (which cost much more money). -
Making every single product wireless is just a craze. Even when logitech released "super" wireless mouse a couple of years ago and "guaranteed" it was perfect as a wired mouse, it totally sucked donkey ass. You couldn't make one move over the mouse pad without the mouse jumping around as it wanted. It might have been MX1000? I don't remember... I just know a friend of mine believed what they said about it and bought it. 2 weeks later (without admit anything) I saw him using his MX510 again.. hahaha. Wireless will always be as wireless no matter what's been said. You can't shield a wireless connection as you can shield a copper cable. -

I love my G5, excellent mouse, can be adjusted for the perfect weight, thumb button is also very helpful, the new G5 is even better because it has two thumb buttons. It tracks smoothly and accurately and adjusting the DPI on the fly for that 1337 sniper kill makes it awesome.

I'm a razer diamondback 3G user and I love it, I used to own the original diamondback and then upgraded! great build quality perfect for my hand and gaming!. also there are buttons that are customizable on the left and buttons to change mouse sensitivity on the right. the weight is good also.
its a great all rounder, and its got a red light coming from the scroll wheel (blue or green are your other options) childish maybe but I think it looks sick. lol I need to go back to grad school. -

I love my Razer Copperhead. After two years, it is still going strong. A new mousepad (Func.net) and the wear on the teflon from using it on every imaginable surface is no longer an issue
I don't mind my mx518, but it isn't as comfortable for me, a fingertip mouser. I also find myself missing the extra 2 buttons on the right side, and find the dedicated sensitivity buttons to be a bit of a waste. -
-
My favorite mouse is MX518 because there are a lot of buttons to set your hotkeys. Also it fits well in my hands.
-
i've also just ordered a deathadder (and an exact mat to go with it, lacking any real mouse surfaces), was torn between the copperhead and deathadder o.o
so far though, all i've used is a Microsoft mini optical mouse, bland, tasteless, and it's soo tiny, yet it does what it's supposed to do. -
MX518 here had a G5 but i sold it with my PC, went back to the 518 and it still is a great mouse.
-
no1. mx510
no2. g5 -
I had a copperhead, now I'm using a Steel Series Ikari laser mouse.
IMO both are excellent, I just like the ergonomics and the look of the ikari more. -
I'm using a SteelSeries pad with my G9...love their products!
-
i am surprised no one mentioned DeathAdder....the worlds best Counter-strike team i.e Fnatic uses it...
I also use it ..although i am noob....the mouse is just too good..
Its better than MX518 as it dissipates Sweat continously...really important for long gaming hours -
I was going to look into the MX518 and see how it could possibly be better than the logitech mouse i am using.
Then i looked at the bottom to see what mine was.
Apparently I too own an MX518.
So I too must agree that it is FABULOUSSS!!! -
-
I'm actually accepting donations.
100k or over though.
I don't want too much pocket change. -
MX 518. It's actually spoiled me. Going back and using "regular" mice just feels bad (inaccurate and jumpy).
-
Not sure why, but "regular" mice never seem to work well for me.
-
Yes, this post RULES. -

Hmmm, well seeing as I'm not a hardcore gamer... I use the VX revolution.
For some reason - it tracks as well as any wired mouse I've used (never used a good wired laser mouse yet). Never have any jitters at all either. Plus it has a BAZILLION BUTTONS to program hahaha.
I like the somewhat smaller size, so instead of resting my palm on it - I can just use my thumb and fingers and get precise fast movements out of it. -

Had the MX518 for a few years and still works strong.
I love how it is 'heavy' and agile, the gun metal gray makes it look awesome, and best of all is the forward/back button just above the thumb.
I don't really use the +/- sensitivity buttons even when gaming. -

When I was on my search for a new gaming mouse, this was the bang for the buck.
But I did not want the ugly retail version that has the optical illusion of dented metal.... kinda like someone chucked it against the wall a couple of times.
The Logitech MX518 (retail version) feels great and is bang for the buck... however its looks are fulgy... looks like someone threw it against the wall a couple of times and dented it (stupid Logitech graphic designers).
I was fortunate to get the ASUS re-branded MX518 version from one of our NBR members that did not want it (which came with his ASUS G1s).
Its purdy... (with the carbon fiber look)
Here are some quick pics from my Treo:
As you can see, it fits very well with my Clevo D900K.
(and the "Bloom" effect from my cheap phone-cam makes it look more interesting, LOL)
I am using it now, very nice and sleek. Pretty comfortable as well. -
Doesn't anyone have the MX518se (special edition)? It's the same mouse but red, like the mx510

Before I got my diamondback 3g I went to my local target to see it, but it was out of stock that day.. -
I love my Microsoft Sidewinder mouse. Everything the G5 is but better!

Yeah but that's just raw performance.. doesn't really mean it's the best mouse. This phrase is getting old, but there is no best mouse.
-
The best one, is the one you feel suits you the best. But ofc a MX518 is better then a $7 no-name mouse. But when the specs of the mices are almost identical I would say, pick the one thats suits you. Here at work I have a totally crappy Optical Mouse. But it does it's job, just pointing and clicking. But I would never consider trying gaming with this one, haha. -
...although MX518 & DeathAdder are two top mouse...DeathAdder dissipates Sweat very fast from its surface so slightly better.
It looks hot..
Btw ...Anyone tried G5? -
more buttons > benchmarking.
Sampling rates and usb bandwitch don't mean jack if your hotkeys are slowing you down. -
I just love the MX510, to bad mine died and I had to upgrade to 518, I still miss my 510
-
The G5 is just the laser (more expensive) version of the MX518.
-
^^pretty much, there are so many advertising gimicks when it comes to gaming mice.
