.I have a full size laptop which I want a cooler pad for that will both work as a surface to use my laptop on when not at a desk, and also do a good job of cooling. Narrowed down to these two.'

    Any suggestions?

    I vote for the Zalman

I have an NC1000 and when I use it, the underside of my Envy 15 becomes cold to the touch, even when running graphics intensive applications or games. However, you can forget about carrying it around in your laptop bag with you.
