Hi i just got a zalman NC1000 for my M1530 two days ago ordered it from circuit city. i noticed a strange rattling noise coming from the left fan. Its not loud at all but it is definitely noticeable because the noise is not constant and it beats regularly and steadily, the noise increases as u turn the fan up higher. Also i've read many reviews of the zalman and i have never heard anyone talk about this. I was wondering if it was normal or not?
I can hear the noise from 2 meters away in a quiet room, and i read that 18 dba should not be heard within more than 1 meter

Should i return it and ask for a different one? i have 14 days to return it

my nc2000 was the same way...except mine wasnt brand new.

my guess is that a screw or something was lose, because once i turned it over, examined it a bit, the noise never came again.

there should be no sounds like that.

I have both NC1000 and NC2000... both very silent.

I just grabbed myself one of these off of amazon last week, just got home to try it out.

On medium-low settings there is virtually no noise.

However, on high I get a slight rattly sound and the I can hear the fans going (sort of a motor-like sound) like a normal fan-ish sound but kind of pronounced.

I figured this to be totally silent, but that may have been a dream.

I just want to double check that you guys can, in fact, hear your NC1000's at highest fan settings.

    The rattling just stopped randomly.

I think I'm just being paranoid since I can hear the bugger.
