anyone knows when will it be released to the market?

thx b4 ^^

The NC1000 is out already and it seems to be better than the 2000 version just because it gives you an extra USB that you lose from plugging it into your laptop. The 2000's best feature seems to be the compartment for the wire thats about it. Otherwise go for the 1000
-
actually the NC2000 was made for larger noteboooks.... like 17"
NC1000:
- Dimensions : 308(L) X 330(W) X 40(H) mm
NC2000:
- Dimensions : 318(L) X 400(W) X 42.5(H) mm -
Oh I see now
. I still don't like the idea of losing a USB completely but I guess it would need to for the size.
-
you don't lose the USB
they put a USB port on BOTH sides of the cooler.
so you can plug into one side for the power, and use the other side for peripherals. -
Oh I didn't see that in the pictures. Oh well still a great cooler no matter the USB plugs.
Sorry about all this confusing that I thought I knew lol
-
wow that is really nice...
-
so im kinda confused, should i wait for the nc2000 or just buy the nc1000. becoz my Acer TM8204 is very hot, its 60 C on the idle(after i aplied arctic silver, before its 65).
will this really help me?
thx -
you dont have to lose a usb to your cooler anymore, there are products like this now:
http://www.brightonnet.co.jp/english/product/ipod/bi-plugac.html -
i wonder if it's safe to use it with your ipod adapter?
that thing cost me a fortune even though i hardly used it. -
^ i havent personally tried it - but i did read a few reviews where that was mentioned - apparently, people have no issues at all with that
i still have one from way back in the day when apple actually included them in the box with ipods - lol - i gotta dig that thing up... -
can it be true? the gods have answered our prayers? a bigger zalman nc1000?
-
-
It says it can support up to 20 inch laptops.
http://www.boston.co.uk/products/components/coolers/notebook/nc2000/default.aspx -
hope they release in the US soon. i'm holding off NC1000 for this
-
-
no. i looked all over the internet. they haven't released it yet. they just announced it. usually asian country will get it first. but i think it's still needs some time. that's why ill just go ahead and get myself a zalman nc1000.
^^ -
the NC1000 is still great... so you would not be disappointed.
-
those cant be used on your lap! i would realy like oe cooler that can be used in my lap!
-
isn't cooler for your lap a little overkill? if you have a laptop that needs constant cooling you shouldn't be using on your lap in first place
-
i do not agree with you, and I think that the creator of the LAPtop neither! hehehe!
i just want to prevent my lap to be very hot, it happends when i had an hp zv6000! -
i got the NC1000. soooooooper coooooler. its a tiiiiny bit (insignificant) smaller then my notebook...but cools like a cucumber. idle temps dropped from 52-55c to about 43-45c, while gaming (most recent is COD4) temps get to about 60c.
great cooler....miiight get the nc2000 might not. but overall...thyre brilliant...and the finish is FANTASTIC. -
Anyone heard of when this cooler is being released?
-
-
don't see point with going for nc2000 for the larger size to be honest, i have the nc-1000 and my m9750 fits on it and it dropped idle and max load temps by 3-6C
-
While the manufacturer states on their package and all that this thing can handle up to 20" notebooks, this is only partially true. My Clevo sits nicely atop this elegantly designed piece of equipment, and there is no rocking whatsoever when you extend the lifts at the two back corners. It hangs out on either flank just 1.5 inches. However, the big problem is the slow fan speed (max 1500 rpm), which is really only quite minor in terms of cooling power when you consider how much heat this thing produces. I run a TL-60 along with 2 Nvidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX's, and two hard drives. This thing cooks around 52-55 degrees idle (according to CPUCool) with the fans running at max power! When I turn it off, it actually seems to run a degree or two cooler!
Why? I suspect that the fans are drawing enough power to create excess heat, and furthermore, the holes are that push the air up onto the bottom of the laptop do not cover the entire surface. As such, there is dead surface where air does not blow directly into the air intakes on the bottom of my computer. The result is as inefficient system...
But if you run something smaller--say, a 17 inch system--then, I feel this might be a good solution. The sad fact is that this cooler just doesn't seem to fit well with my system. If you have a similar beast of a portable desktop, you may have to consider other options that may hopefully either already exist (where, I wonder!) or that may come in the near future. I remember reading something about a Japanese fan that is just huge. I believe it was for laptops, too... -
Welcome to the NBR forums, surdanis.
I would like you to recommend you to do the following for your beast to keep it cool:
- you got a good cooler, CHECK.
- you need to clean out your fans and vents every two months (with a flashlight, compressed air, and Q-tips)... the dust will just collect and over heat your system
- monitor the temps (GPU, CPU, etc...)
The monitoring of the GPU temps is the most crucial in a gaming system... peaking temps will tell you that your system needs to be cleaned out, or has other issues.. but its usually dust. -
I just opened up the beast again, Gophn, and I was wondering how on earth I was going to clean my fans. Q-tips? I didn't wanna get all that nasty dust on my pretty green cards, which seems to be there anyway. I'm thinking about sending her into the shop for a professional cleaning. Thoughts?
BTW:
UPDATE on Zalman NC2000!
Having carefully mulled it over, it IS possible to optimize the Zalman NC2000's air cooling system. As stated in my previous post, the actual holes don't cover the entire surface of the cooler. However, it is possible to slide the M590KE furthere down so that the air intakes are DIRECTLY over them so that maximum cooling is achieved. The results are an astounding 2 to 3 degree difference LOL! It seems to hover around 51 to 53 degrees Celcius while idle now. I stress that the Clevo machine is a quite large and produces much heat to begin with. I will report my success with further dusting, though I expect little in the way of improvement. Having read about my particular make and model, the Clevo here runs particularly hot to begin with!
But consider this: While playing City of Heroes, I would normally peak over 68 to 70 degrees! Now, it doesn't seem to get hotter than 67, hovering mainly in the 63 to 65 degree range--which is a vast improvement, I think. Pumping up the fans to full blast (fn+1) adds about 2-3 degrees more cooling.
I only wish I had an AC unit for this thing... -
My Zalman NC-2000 cooler should be arriving today
-
Its way tooo expensive in Singapore...just out of my budget... More expensive than Gaming keyboards
-
Just that simple.
But your GPU temps seem fine if they are under 80 C degrees during gaming sessions.
Just watch them for indicators of overheating. -
Ok, I have an update. After dusting the internals of my system, I found that there was barely any significant dust to move. Yes, there was some dust in the vents, but after putting her back together, I discovered maybe a 1 degree decrease in overall temperature. Nothing dramatic, if it did anything at all. Still, it's a good idea to dust anyway. I will say that I do clean the desk regularly, which may explain the overall lack of dust in the machine. Also, keeping your computer on as much as possible may be a good idea, since, as a computer geek once told me, any dust will be repelled from touch any parts of the system because of the inherent EM fields.
So, in conclusion, I will stick by first statement and say this is really only good for smaller computers. Mine is a M590KE and should be the largest laptop on the market right now. A 17" should benefit from the cooler more than my machine. I'd like to hear thoughts from other buyers. Also, I would like to add that I used SpeedFan as well as CPUCool. Furthermore, the CoH seems to run more smoothly--though I wonder if it's because of all the updates I did to my drivers. -
help! my computer is restarting on its own and shutting itself down ramdomly! i'm not sure if it's overheating. it's never done this before. i've updated every driver and can't figure this out.
is it possible i am overloading the psu? how do i know? -
If you have a gaming notebook, and have not clean its vents and fans from dust (using compressed air and Q-tips)...
then it is probably overheating.
You are supposed to clean out your gaming notebooks every two or three months. -
Obviously never heard of my beast of a machine, eh? The M590KE is the premier gaming notebook right now until the release of the D900C and D901C this February, since they will feature the new 8800M GTX, which trumps mine in SLI.
I went through and did a more thorough cleaning and found a little more dust and one little dust bunny in one of the vents. I even tried vaccuuming, though I didn't pick up much and I didn't want to damage too many parts. Suggestions on cleaning:
1. DON'T USE THE CANNED AIR AFTER DOING THE INSIDE! Apparently, this forced dust into the interior. I might even recommend never using it. Better to vaccuum I think.
2. Check each vent hole. I mean really check each little section and spray once or twice. That's how I found the dust bunny.
3. REMOVE THE BATTERY before cleaning. I remember the tech guy telling me this, and I forgot to do it. It may not make much difference, but I think this may short something in the system. Something to do with stored electricity or some such nonsense -
you are supposed to open your panels, then use compressed air.
blow at the fan and the vents from the inside... so that the air and dust will get blow outward. -
By the way- ZipZoomFly has the NC-2000 in stock in both black and silver here. Since it won't let me link to the page of Zalman's NC series coolers, you'll have to dig a bit...
If it works as well as the NC-1000 for my dv9000T, I'll be THRILLED (and I have no reason to believe it won't work the same!)
Update- the NC-2000 DOES work just as well, and is actually a perfect fit for a dv9xxx series laptop...the only con I can see is that they made the USB ports single on either side instead of the two next to each other on the right side like on the NC-1000. Depending on the layout of your machine's USB ports, that can be either good or bad. Also, the power light is blue as opposed to red, which goes well with all the blue LEDs on the HP!
I ordered mine on Thursday from ZipZoomFly, and it was here on Monday (to Upstate NY)...the whole transaction was great! -
nooooooooooooooo i knew i should've waited..
-
Is it safe to buy these from Ebay? Or is ZipZoomFly better (never heard of that site before)?
-
yeah ebay is relatively safe especially the low cost items. zipzoomfly is reputable retailer. i don't think you could go wrong with either way since you're essentially getting an identical item.
-
-
i'm getting this cooler tomorrow so might review it
-
Should one purchase the Nc1000 for a 15.4 inch laptop?
-
I'm using it on 14"-15.4" standard and widescreen (t42, t61p, e1405, e1501, dv2750us, m15x <-soon) and i think it's perfect. For a standard 15" you'll get around 2" on each side to spare; for a wide 15.4, you'll have about 1 inch on each side. If you're primarily using this on your desktop, i think it's worth getting the nc2000. For one, i prefer to have my cooler wider than my laptop.
I don't plan on using this thing on my lap much but i figure that the larger size would be more stable (trade off for a little weight). i have the thermaltake iXoft that i just got in for typical lap use. The iXoft is a flexible pad that uses passive cooling so it wouldn't be a fair comparison i this test. In this case, I'm comparing NC-2000 to an old Antec NoteBook Cooler that i'm replacing. Informally testing the NC-2000 on my lap, i find that i can move much more freely (just shifting around the seat and such - moving my legs together, apart, side to side, sliding down the couch, etc) without worrying about tipping the laptop. very nice.
Note that i don't plan on taking the NC-2000 with me anywhere. it will stay on my desk mostly and maybe move to my lap if i feel that passive cooling of the iXoft won't suffice. if you plan on packing your Zalman with you more often than not, you may want to look into the NC-1000 or even a different pad altogether.
One perk of having this larger pad is that i can also use it to cool my hands. When i'm not typing, i'd rest my hands on the metal on either side of my laptop and appreciate the cool breeze the zalman gives off.
Overall, i am really glad i went with the NC-2000 over the smaller 1000 model for my 14.1-15.4" laptops. I would recommend the NC-1000 for users with laptops that are 14" or smaller... maybe the standard 15" but, again, i'm perfectly happy using the standard 15" on the NC2000. Wide 15.4 and above? IMO, definitely the NC2000 unless you're worried about space.
EDIT: i guess i should also point out that i have not and don't have the ability to test the efficiency of the NC2000 versus the NC1000 on cooling a 15" notebook. I don't know if the smaller pad would cool the 15" better or not.
I hope this is helpful. -
I literally just got my NC-2000 in the mail too, first notebook cooler with my Sager 5791. First impressions is that it fits perfectly and ideal for this notebook will post more information later on. If I can get a hold of a camera I'll gladly post a review.
-
Another user review would be great.
Btw guys, ifti, another NBR member posted a Youtube video review of the Zalman NC2000 cooler. Definetly worth a look for anyone interested.
People who already have them, please post up your reviews too, always good to get different perspectives and opinions. -
-
EDIT: if i have time today, i'll post some photos of the unit with some laptops sitting on it. I actually had the NC1000 in my hands but i boxed it right back up and sent it back. Looking back now, I guess i should have taken photos of that one too. I just have no need for it since i like my NC2000 - even though i don't own a 17" laptop (the size that Zalman recommends for the NC2000). -
Just got mine today in the mail. Still at work so I haven't been able to try it out with my laptop, but I'm wondering one thing. On the bottom there are fan... imprints or something next to the real fans. What are these for? Are they there to show that I can add two more fans? Has anyone tried this?
I might try and put some led's inside that way it would match all my other gear
