I'm gonna buy one of these products for my 14" Acer laptop. Which one should I choose? I'm guessing 3000 is the newer one but 2000 is expensiver  Any feedback would be great

The 2000 has an all aluminum surface, and certainly looks more luxurious.
Get the 2000 is coolingis not your main concern.

    NC200

    Metal build
    even air flow
you can do the concentrated air flow mod due to cooling design
    ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/accessories/302094-zalman-coolers-easy-mod-focused-airflow.html) (Wont work with NC 3000)

    NC3000
    Plastic
    large single fan
Cheaper versions of the same thing available from other brands (Thermal take, Enermax etc)

The nc3000 is not all plastic. The core is aluminum and the edges surrounding the core are plastic. It cools better than the nc2000, but the nc2000 obviously is better looking between the two. That's a fair trade imo and you'd have to go with your priority.

If I want nice cooling then should I go with 3000? Also how much drop on the temp on the M17x with the 3000?
