I guess it would be hard to really compare these as I suspect few people would own more than one of these.

I've only seen one review which compared the NC2500 and NC3000, which generally favoured the NC3000:

The NC2500 has a 2.5" HDD drive bay if that's of interest, but in terms of cooling the NC3000 did a better job. At low RPM the NC2500 was equal or slightly better, but at higher RPM the NC3000 pulled ahead quite a bit, while being able to cool the front and back of the laptop equally.

    I have never been able to find any comparison between the NC2000 & NC3000 / NC2000 & NC2500.

Aside from performance this may be a deciding factor:
Both the NC2500 and NC3000 require 2x USB input or AC input. If you have only one USB port on any side of the laptop, you're stuck with the NC2000 or require auxilary power.

Has anyone by any chance used more than one? Is the NC3000 better than the NC2000 simply because it's newer? Does someone favour the NC2500 for reasons other than the drive bay?

They all sell for about the same price...

    Also...
I have a Dell Studio 1557 which, along with the 1558, is infamous for heat issues. I was thinking about getting one fo these, but which? I have yet to find a review combining any of these with a Studio 15. And if anyone knows a better cooler for a Studio 1557, I'm all ears, eh eyes.

I think you are mistaken, the NC-3000S does not require two USB inputs for power. The second port is output for another USB device.
