I'm pretty sure you'll like it. As far as the adding fans deal, i have not opened mine up yet... been too busy. As far as i know, it is not designed for you to add fans. The 2 centrifugal type fans are designed to pull air up and push to the side so i'm assuming there are "guides" wrapping around the fans to direct the air down into the rest of the pad... otherwise it would just be a waste of rpm/power + added noise. Again, i don't really know. But if that is the case, you prob won't have room for more fans in those positions... not to mention that you'll have to cut out the holes yourself.

I did wonder why a 3rd fan wasn't added by design in the nc2000 instead of just having 2 like the nc1000. I would've liked to have the option to turn on the 3rd fan if i needed it. I mean unless they just left it out for power reasons. ;)

NNugles, great review! let us know when you manage to open the NC2000 up, it could be possible to replace the fans with more powerful ones if more can't be added. I'm very curious about it!

What exactly is the size of your notebook? Do you have a 15" widescreen?

the 1000 would be smaller than a widescreen 15.4. my m15x would hang off the sides therefore i bought the nc2000 instead... i like it a lot.

@ X2P - yeah i saw that just the other day... since you posted pics there, i didn't post mine. thanks for the review

Yeah, this is what I hear. I would actually like to see what a 15.4" laptop looks like on an NC1000. Honestly, I've heard better reviews on the NC1000 than I have the NC2000, thus far. I don't know how true or false any of it is, though.

Here is a member's post on the m15x but there is a photo of the laptop on the nc1000. Granted, the m15x is a little wider than most 15.4" laptops.

no prob. yeah the photo you see in that review wouldn't be your typical for a 15.4". The m15x is a little bit wider than most 15.4" laptops... but it gives you an idea. As i mentioned in my previous post, i prefer my cooler to be wider than my laptops. the m15x fits perfectly on the NC2000 imo. I would only consider the NC1000 for 13" laptops or smaller... maybe a 14.1". i'm using my 14.1 on my nc2000 and it's fine to me but it might be too big for some. If you plan on using the pad for a 15.4" widescreen, i would recommend the nc2000 because, to me, a bigger pad is better than one that is too small.

Having the bigger pad gives me the feel of a "lap table/tray" that i place the laptop on as i'm working on as opposed to a laptop extension... that would just make the whole thing feel like a super thick laptop to me. i don't know if that makes any sense.

    Sony FZ: 14 x 10.2 x 1.4
    HP dv6000: 14.1 x 10.1 x .75
    Toshiba Satellite A20: 14.3 x 10.5 x 1.32
    Dell 1500: 14.1 x 10.59 x 1.47

    AW m15x: 14.5 x 10.75 x 1.3(ish without feet)

Also AW measure their laptops with an abnormally short measuring tape. I don't think it's 1.3" thick (may be closer to 1.5) but i haven't measured. Although, the m15x is boxy making it look and feel thicker than the curvier laptops.

Once again, NNugles, thanks for all the help/information. I think that I am going to give the NC2000 a try.
