Well, I have some extra cash and I don't need anything so why not buy a laptop cooler? Especially because I have an Asus G50vt-a1 and the gpu gets up to 92 degrees c. But do I really need the laptop cooler? Will it help my computer in the long run? (I want the laptop to last at least 2 years)
I have heard that the zalman is the best for this particular pc and can shed off 5-7 degrees c minumum....
Is 80-95 degrees c bad for the 9800 gs gpu?
Im kind of on the fence about buying it because it is 60 bucks and I'm not sure that it really matters if my gpu is at 85 c or 80 c.

90+ is not a good temperature for the GPU and will decrease the life.
I have a similar model, the X5 and my GPU also rises up to 90c+ and have ordered a cooler to lower my temperatures. -

Remove the overclock from your CPU. That should help lower the GPU temps a bit. Remember that both components share the same heatsink and fan.

Wow, thats even worse then. Dump some new thermal paste on the GPU and buy the NC2000.

Right. But every little bit counts and my emphasis was on the purchase of the NC2000.

u think bestbuy may have it? -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
No, Best Buy doesn't have it. All they have are junky Targus and Belkin coolers. They don't appreciate fine products of Korean engineering.

Asus really suck at making their laptops cool

just incase the gpu busts
