    Hey there.
Im looking to buy either one of those.. I think i read that the NC2000 is for 20" laptops, while the NC1000 is for 15,4 (which mine is). Is this correct? Any other differences? I mean the NC1000 is a whole lot cheaper.

    What'd you recommend?

Yeah i saw that.. Well.. Paying double as much for that, and since its bigger and heavier, i wouldn't like.. i need to have it in my bag with me at most times hehe. So i think it'll be NC1000

I believe you'll have a little bit of hang-off but if it's more in your budget to get the NC1000, by all means purchase it.

You're laptop might be slightly larger in dimensions than the NC1000. My 17inch Gateway 6860 is just slightly smaller than the NC2000.

The NC-2000 will fit 15.4'' notebooks well, and considering the G1S is a large 15.4''...the NC 2000 will be perfect. :) Search around for X2P's review.

    EDIT: LOL X2P :p

Yeah - my 15.4" widescreen (dell inspiron 8600) hangs off by about 1cm either side, the but doesn't look wrong/bad in anyway, and works brilliantly.

Chris, what are the size of yours? My ASUS is around 35,4 CM wide and 28,4 cm in "heigh". Will it fit ok? I know i could just as well buy a NC2000 but money problem hehe.

Mine's about 35cm wide at the front - where it hangs off by about 1cm either side. Although at the keyboard its slightly wider (about 35.9cm) and hangs over by a little more.

Also something to consider is the length of you laptop in comparison to the notebook cooler - something i realized recently is that when my laptop sits with the front right above the rubber strip at the front of the notebook cooler, the back of the laptop is right above where the aluminum folds downwards, and my laptop is about 27-28cm long. (hope that makes sense, found it difficult to explain).
Although there is about 2cm to play with in front of the rubber strip on the notebook cooler (where the front of my laptop sits)

    Hope that helps.

hi I'm an happy possesor of G1S except for the cooling system :) I'm wondering about an external cooling solution and I've seen that the zalman series is quite appreciated.
So I'm now wondering about which size I should buy. I'm interrested by your experience with the NC2000. Could you please post pictures of your laptop and the cooler because I'm wondering about the general aspect of a 17" cooler with the (little bit more bigger than others) 15.4" G1S.

Which gain of temperatures do you notice? I've seen on other forum that it's about 6-8°C with the NC1000. What about you?

    Hi JinRoh,

THANKS A Bunch JinRoh for these pictures ... really helps out the people who have 15.4" laptop ... like your XPS M1530 (or my Sager NP2092= Compal JFL92) and can't make up their mind on NC1000 or NC2000.

I was afraid that NC2000 was going to be way, way bigger than my laptop and have a lot of Vent Holes "Uncovered" and therefore may be some "Wasted" cooling. But from your pictures I can see that NC2000 is way better fit than the NC1000 for my 15.4" laptop.

Actually ... X2P always keep mentioning that NC2000 is a better fit ... but some of us (me) are "Hard of Hearing" ...

Anyway ... it is all about "Teamwork" ... and your many comments and pictures has made it more clear ... YOU GUYS & GALS ARE THE BEST!

    Thanks,
    G! :)

One thing, if he slid the notebook to all but the bottom the whole intake fan should be getting air. I noticed this with my vostro on the 2000 and my gfs HP on the 1000. Its great for both considering 9cell batters for those models stick out the back and still the whole notebook fits on the cooler.

So far I have to say the cooler is amazing, far better than I expected. NFS carbon which used to peak at 78-80 stays put at 69, while WoW without the cooler have once hit 92 and now is not breaking 80. overall a 10 degree difference. And I have the setting on the lowest. the highter settings seem to make more noise than cooling

10 degree difference is indeed worth it, and $45 ummm, I don't know.

Since your in Canada I recommend NCIX, very reliable but they do not have the best prices. :( BUT they have somthing called price match where they match prices.

This linke will provide you with the cheapest shops in canada

    http://www.shopbot.ca/default.asp?kw=zalman+nc1000&position=search

I recommend you find the cheapest one then contact NCIX and ask them to match the price. It is the safest and best deal youll get in Canada as many shops in Canada have been getting bad ratings.

    Good luck :)
