Im looking to buy this cooler asap, as soon as I can find it in stock somewhere!!

Anyways, I know it runs via a USB port, but is there any way it can be run by an independant power source? Can I run it straight from the mains?

they are pretty cheap, you can buy them for around $10 in stores (Best Buy, Staples, Radioshack, etc.)

Or you can get a battery powered one like this:

(just stick some rechargeable batteries in them for bang for the buck)

These kinds of USB powered devices are common for those with Cell phone, and PDAs.

It wont automatically turn off the same time as your laptop if you use an external power source.

I have a AC powered Logitech USB HUB and you have to unplug or turn off the cooler seperately

I dont mind that, since I want it to stay on for a few mins after I shut my laptop down. I dont mind switching it off manually afterwards.
