I've had good luck with the Antec Notebook Cooler 200 though it was on the pricey side (90 dollars at launch), mine with my discount was 55.

    Added it.

So now we have 4 coolers. Price is not an issue, I just would like to hear your opinions. Currently I have a Cryo LX but it is becoming a bit weird lol

The Cooler Master SF-19 is reported to push as much as maybe more air than the notepal U3 (one of the coolers with highest recorded airflow). Plus it has 4 port USB 3.0 hub and customizable light show similar to AlienFX on your R3, coupled with a Roccat Kova [+] mouse and you got a setup to die for.

Hmm it appears I missed the Antec as well :D

I guess not enough info is online when you search up "best 17" notebook cooler."

But the Cooler Master looks good, but it seems a bit high. Other than that, there seems to be a lot of DOA units which worries me.

The Antec seems to have great reviews but I do not like how it looks. Is it made of plastic or metal?

    Thanks all

I have the SF-19 2.0 version, It was atleast $25 cheaper than the 3.0 version, figured I don't really need 4 3.0 hubs. All I can say is that if you really want a cool cooler then you should get that. For $55, you cant go wrong with it. The 4 2.0 usb hubs are also powered by the ac adapter that came with it so you dont have to worry if you plugin powerhog devices. And the cooler is solid stable, My m17x r3 really sits on it tight solid. I only wish that the rubber color that came with the 2.0 version is also black.

I recently got a Asus G73SW and got a Cooler Master SF-19 to go with it.

Few issues I have with the SF-19.
    - The fan speed can only be set to low when being run off USB. This setting seems to low to do anything.
    - When plugged in and turned on high, its quite loud and only seems to drop a few degrees
    - The AC plug is quite short.
    - It's rather thick.

I been using Core Temp to view temperatures by just glancing at the current temp. If someone could recommend a better program to keep track of temperatures that be very helpfull.

Being that this is the first notebook cooler I have used, I have nothing to compare it to.
    - Do all coolers require an external power supply to run on high settings?
    - Is there any that are really quiet and provide ample cooling?

The CryoLX is nice. Try modding it with new 120mm fans and you'll see a big difference in the airflow :)

The fans will run w/o the AC adapter, because they pull power from the USB of your PC.
