I have sennheiser HD 201's and i'm not sure how i'm supposed to be able to clip the zalman mic to the wires of my HD 201 since it's too thin. How exactly is this supposed to clip to a wire or even a shirt?
Also don't see how it's supposed to be high quality :\. I thought it would have some noise cancellation or at least only pick me up, but it's still picking up a lot of noise around me, which is why I bought it, otherwise I would have just used my laptop's mic.
I don't see why it's so highly praised. Crappy clip and doesn't improve much over my laptop's mic. I don't understand why they couldn't have at least added a spring type of clip rather than some crappy clip that purely depends on the friction and how tight the wire is in the "clip".

Works well or me its a huge step above any laptop mic I have used. A spring clip is a good idea but they make it cheap and sell it cheap so no complaints from me.
It fits my AT A700 cable perfectly.
If your cable is too thin try to think of a way around it like folding a small piece of paper over a few times over your cable. -
I taped it to the single left wire on my HD 202s

Also, how exactly is it better than any other mic? It still picks up everything far away. I want it to just pick up my voice.

I dont think anybody said it was better than any other mic, but definitely better than the built in ones in a laptop that ou have to yell at to get it to pick your voice up and also gets all the noise from the system like the speakers and typing vibrations.
For noise cancellation I can turn that on in my recording properties due to my sound card, that often times is handled by the sound card not the microphone. Due to the nature of this mic not being right infront of your mouth like a boom mic it cant be setup to only accept sound from one direction, it has to be omni directional.
You may want to seek out a good boom mic if your needs are greater than what this mic can do. -
Bummer, already threw out 14$ for this. My creative headset was better than my HD 202's + the zalman mic then >_>.

Sorry man, I like mine and I got it for like $8.00 so I think it was worth a risk thats about how much a foot long sub cost.

@ The OP: It's praised because it's ~$15, and it's the only readily available solution for this kind of use. Most people who consider themselves audio experts don't actually buy headsets, but instead buy headphones and stick the Zalmans on, because it's the only solution - and they believe it's the best solution. They don't actually have any experience of the alternatives - If they did, the Zalmans would be trashed. There's a very good reason I use the MMX300 / G35 instead of the HD650 (or indeed the Orpheus or the SR-007) + Zalman. -
:| so unfortunate. My creative fatality headsets were getting a bit old so I decided I would get a headphones + mic since in this website it's praised so much. I gave my old pair to my brother. Wasted about 50$ when my setup was already fine ~_~. 25$ for headset, 15$ for mic, and 10$ to ship back the headset that broke to zalman ~_~.
