Heres the deal: with the zalman nc1000 cooler on at about mid-rpm my 1530 will give me a blue screen of death and windows says the problem is the gpu after restart. This has happened 4 times in about 5 hours of total use with the cooler (brand new cooler).

So now I have been running my computer, from searching the internet, doing homework, and playing cs:s without the cooler now for about 3 hours and it has not happened once.

Could the usb powered nc1000 cooler be shorting or doing something to my card to make it give me the BSOD's? Has anyone else had this problem?

Oh and I dont think it is overheating because the zalman was cooling my gpu by about 6 degrees. I may be wrong though...

could just be your drivers. does it say anything about nvlddkm.sys or something similar?

It was saying there was a problem with nvidia drivers or something, I had 174.31 which was a great driver up until this point so I went back to the 174.12 and it did it again. Also tried 174.74, same thing. all from laptopvideo2go.

Its not cooler related then. Try reverting back to 169.xx drivers...

I doubt its the cooler doing anything, its only using the power pins of your usb port, if its drawing power and running then its probably working ok. It does not use the data ports like a mouse or something which could effect a program/drivers.

But keep testing you never know with computer hardware sometimes the strangest things happen and you get out of the ordinary cases where hardware conflicts happen that shouldn't, like your mobo cant handle the power draw, or there is a extra pin on your cooler shorting the data line....

for the most part of today, maybe 5-6 hours, the computer has been on (not hibernation) without the cooler plugged in and it worked perfectly fine. tomorrow I'll keep testing and see if it the computer goes crazy again with the cooler plugged in. I'll also go back to a 169.xx driver as well and see how that goes.

kind of want to figure it out because if it is a hardware problem with the computer, i have 5 days left of the 21 for a return.
