Hey people. I was wondering if anyone could recommend me any good flash drives.

    Physical size not too big/bulky
    Memory size: 2+ gigs
    Price: descent (whatever seems fit)
Speed: this is the key detail..I want something that can read/write/transfer fast

    Ms pro duo usb reader
    +
Sony 4GB Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo

30MB/s write speed! It's 2-pieces; but you can always keep the memory stick in the usb enclosure. You can always choose a sexier MS Pro Duo USB2.0 reader; don't worry about using a generic cheap one though it should be just as functional.
This is faster than all the above suggestions. If you got a built-in card reader in your laptop, you won't even need the usb reader!

I'll give another vote to the Cruzer Titanium. I haven't ran any speed tests on it but it will install Vista in under 15 minutes.

It really depends on your usage. If you're gonna be transferring a lot of large files, go for the faster flash drives. I have encountered an anomaly when tranferring multiple small files.
I have been using a Sandisk Cruzer Micro and so far nothing beats it when it comes to writing multiple small files. I did a test of 3000 file transfer with total size of 1GB. It took the Cruzer 6 mins. The Cruzer Contour which is rated much faster did it in 5.5 mins. Not much speed increament if you ask me. The Corsair Flash Voyager was the worst of the lot. It took a total of 16 mins even if HDTune rated it to be much faster. For benchmarking, I find ATTO to be more reliable as it test for the transfers of files of different sizes.

I have 4 Sandisk Cruzer Micros and personally know 10 other people with them as well. They are very durable for being plastic (I keep mine on my keychain 24/7 and it takes quite a beating) and are fairly quick.

+1 with Sandisk cruzer micro (plastic). Even if it is plastic its really sturdy and remains glossy.

nah i'd add to the list of good-to-go pendrives with the rally2 line-up of ocz products. i have 6 of them ranging from 1GB to 8GB, some for quite a long time now and not a single one of them failed me. they're quite fast, cheap, and they're rather sleek in terms of form. so both form and function is their up-side.

aah and my friends own about 40 of them at least and noone had anything negative to say about them... i'm not sure whether they own only 8GB+ ones but what i recall i was buying for them was never <8GB. and they're quite happy about the price as well along with the form. some also own the more rugged atv turbo products and they're just as happy as others...

OHH I want some of your reviews on this...

The Corsair Flash Voyager. I was thinking about the 16gb. I don't know how fast the write speed/transfer speed is.

Patriot Xporter XT is fast (30MB/s) and pretty rugged. The OCZ ATV Turbo is awesome too (very durable and fast), but rarer to find and pricier.

OHH I was looking at the Patriot Xporter XT 8gb one too. So the write speed is at 30MB/s? I found one on Newegg for $20. So that is a pretty good deal.

The write speed is 11-17. I still would stick with a USB flashdrive unless you're willing to make a major sacrifice in durability and GB for a memory card type option.

Some drives with a good write speed:

OCZ ATV Turbo: Read 33-35, Write 26-30
Corsair Flash Voyager GT: Read 34, Write 28
Corsair Flash Survivor GT: Read 34 (I've heard it's more like 24), Write 28 (again, 21)

A note on the Survivor, no it is not as a durable as the Cruzer Titanium because the cap has a tendency to fall off.

No problem. Just a warning I haven't had much experience with any of these drives. Read up on reviews of each on Amazon or Newegg, etc.

get the corsair flash voyager GT if u want one dat has a high tranfer rate upto 8GB... 8gb and less voyager GTs have the best file transfer rate...
if u want one wid 8+ gb then look at the patriot ones...

Definitely agree with this impression. I have the OCZ Rally2 4GB and it is great. Thin and fast. Remember that the larger flash drives are usually slower than their smaller counterparts especially when it comes to dealing with many small files.

Regardless of how fast the flash drive is, do check out the power requirement if you're gonna be plugging it into a usb-hub.
If the requirement is higher, then your hub will be running into problems.

Another vote for the Cruzer Titanium from me. Its Amazing, runs fast too and holds up like a tank.
