I want to get these speakers and I know they've hit $90 total (shipping included or with free shipping) at some places a while ago. I just want to know if anyone can tell me how often they get to this price point or how I'm suppose to know when they get to this price. The cheapest that I see them for right now is $109 at Amazon (this is with shipping).

Also, I've read/heard about how powerful these speakers are. I just got to ask to confirm this: do these speakers really physically shake random objects in a small-medium size rooms (I live in the dorms).

They arent the most powerful in the world but turned up they should viberate most things on a nearby desk. I know my z5300's do. No nearly as much as the dual 10" in the trunk of my car though...

Basically they would be loud enough to be heard around your dorm hall if turned up.

Amazon changes their pricing all the time. Make sure it's sold by Amazon and then you get free shipping and no sales tax (applies to most states). Right now the price on their site is $83.94 (see attached image).

And yes, they will physically shake objects in your room.

Amazon won't do free shipping on this item (yes, they are the ones selling it). Total with shipping comes out to $109, which is better than most stores anyways. Also, based on what I've found, these speakers barely ever have free shipping on them (even Amazon). I think the lowest price they've ever been sold for that I've found searching on Google is $60 (but with a mail in rebate). Then, I know they've sold it like 3-4 a year for ~$90 on newegg. What I did find though was that TigerDirect was selling this for $99.99 so I added a filler item that was .25 to get the price over $100 because they are doing a promotion where they only charge $1.99 shipping if you spend over $100. So even though I wasn't able to get this for $90, I think I did pretty good with $102 (since these never seem to go on sale). Can't wait to get these speakers and get kicked out of dorm, then my apartment next year :(

You're absolutely right about the free shipping thing. For some reason I was bent on the fact that they offer free shipping on this item, but they definitely don't. The speakers weigh too much to qualify for the free shipping. I apologize for being stubborn about it.

crash, don't worry about it. sterr, I ordered from tigerdirect sunday arouns 1 am. They arrived TODAY at 1 PM. I picked ground shipping and have never ordered from this site before (I usually only do newegg) so I'm very impressed. I'm not saying that you will get yours shipped to you this fast if you order from tigerdirect, but **** that was very fast for ground shipping which is suppose to take at least 3 business days.

at first I was like uhhh... this is it? The reason is that it sounded pretty much as clear as my x-230 except the highs were ear shattering and more detailed (I played around with my EQ to get the perfect settings). The whole thing I didn't realize is that I never actually pushed the volume passed 40%, b/c I was only messing around the bass. After messing around playing different songs, I started to turn this thing up to 50%-60% and couldn't go pass that because it was insanely loud and clear. I mean I was very scared to push this thing any higher, lol. You can feel bass go through your heart almost. So music wise, the sound is very nice at high volumes. I'm glad this system can bump hard at these volumes.

After that I decided to see how powerful and clear sounding these THX certified speakers were playing movies. For this I definitely had to put in Kill Bill Vol. 1 as sound plays a big part in the enjoyment of this movie. After watching the first fight (uma vs vivica), I gotta say I'm very glad that I have a f'ing home theater. In that fight all the glass breaking and punches sounded very clear and you could hear EVERY thump to a intensity. The crazy thing is that I'm pretty sure I could have turned it up even louder and it wouldn't distort. When I was playing the movie my settings were 100% laptop, 33% bass, and 55% volume. In conclusion, these speakers are 10/10 in the category of pc speakers. Also, the people who say that these have no midrange are either liars or morons.

I remember when I first got mine I was scared to turn it up past about half, but you get over it eventually :D
