How does the usb pass through thing work? Does it allow you to connect a usb hub to the same port?

from the laptop. all from 1 port. u connect the cooler first with the cooler's usb adapter into laptop usb port, then u can plug in the mouse into the cooler's usb adapter.

i might have using the wrong terminology !!!

I have that cooler. It's pretty good.

I plug in the mouse through the usb pass through connection powering the cooler.

Try checking the fans for dust bunnies. Mine started making noise like a miniature lawn mower and I saw that a couple of really small dust bunnies were attached at random places on the fans.

Great cooler and very light. I carry mine around with me. I have to put my laptop on it at an angle though because the cooler's fans don't match up with the laptop's rubber feet.

flash drive or mouse==usb passthrough==laptop usb port (my usual setup)

Here is what the cooler's usb cable looks like:

You can get either version now from Amazon with free shipping - both are priced under $29. Just so you know how low the price can go, I got mine on sale at Staples for $10 after instant + online rebate. I've also seen it on sale at Circuit City for $20.
