I've always liked Maximum PC, but I don't know if they're still as good as they used to be. Now I tend to just cruise from website to website.

I'd get it all from the web(more up-to-date & many sources).
Magazines like Laptop Magazine post all there articles online as most do.
But if you want a magazine a lot then PC Gamer, CPU Mag, and/or Laptop Magazine.

No problem but, I would suggest multiple subscriptions. Say Laptop Mag & CPU.

CPU Mag- rights reviews of new GPUs, cases, etc. has giudes such as biulding a notebook computer, 8800 overclocking etc.
Wired- rights about gadgets more then computers, the latest in tech I don't know much but thats what I do know.

My favorite is Maximum PC. Minimum BS is their line and their style of writing is really funny. It is more oriented to hard core gaming with the desktop and GPU reviews, but they have a hand in many different things. Check out their website and you can download pdfs of old issues.

You can also read a lot of the magazines' content online, so I do suggest you do that. Personally, for tech news I read CNET (their reviews aren't that great though), PCMag and PCWorld.

I actually find CNET's reviews to be biased and inaccurate...like giving the ASUS G1 a 6.9 while the Dell Inspiron E1505 got a higher score. You should read the User Reviews for the ASUS G1 on that CNET review, they all disagreed with CNET :D.

I stopped reading CNET when they started reviewing cars.
