I use it in Linux and so far it works fine. I heard about its battery life issue but decided to get it anyway, anyone else like it?

I own 2. It's not a bad mouse. Works on glass and polished granite, which is a plus. Nice, full size, which is also a plus.
It is overpriced, and its one distinctive feature (Darkfield imaging) isn't all that useful to me. But overall, it's a decent mouse if you're willing to pay for the Darkfield feature. -
The battery life is abysmal. I have to recharge within days rather than weeks. However, aside from that I love it.
The only issue if I had to find one would be the controls can sometime be a bit too light for me. Just resting my hand on the mouse can sometimes trigger the scroll wheel. I only wish there was a way to dial in a bit more resistance. -
I have one that I use for my PC. It works everywhere, which is a plus since I never use mousepads and it's quite well shaped which feels nice on the hands.
But it is quite expensive, if I hadn't got it on a big sale, I wouldn't have bought it.
About the battery life, it turns out the battery being used (at least for my mouse) is the same low self discharge rechargable batteries that I normally use so I can switch them out easily if they get bad, and I can get them pretty cheap from DealExtreme with free shipping (It's a Gsyuasa Enitime battery for anyone wondering) -
Sorry to break in slightly off topic, but I've had my Performance MX and I do love it when using it on my glass desk, however I can't for the life of me make it work on Formica and a variety of other surfaces which any other mouse works perfectly on.
Did I just get a dud somehow, or are their settings I've missed? ( I've tried it on a few different computers so I doubt that is the case.)
For those of you with this mouse I would love to hear any feedback. -

As a side note, I thought about getting a Performance MX for my work computer, but ended up going with a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000. I like the MS BlueTrack sensor a bit more than Darkfield. It works on absolutely every surface I've tried, and the battery life is phenomenal. I've had the mouse since March, use it a minimum of 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, and it's still on the original batteries that came in the box. With a coupon from Staples, I paid just $20 + tax. -
After 6 days of continuous usage at work, the battery indicator is still 2 lights, looks like either they improved the design or I had not been using it as crazy as those who need to recharge every 2 or 3 days.

Personally I've noticied something with my Performance MX. It'll say low battery and to recharge about 2 days in, but then it'll work for about another week after that.
Anyone experience the same thing? -

Have been using one for around 1.5 years already. The battery does go out quite fast, have to change one about once a week, I do use for long time everyday though. The left side rubber is also peeling off, especially the place where I place my thumb.

Hmm, gorilla mitts?
Anywho, mine is like new...really! After over a year of use, there's no sign of wear at all. -
It has been two weeks and still running on the battery that came with, I am pretty sure the battery wasn't at full but I have not charged it once.
Pretty impressive!
anyone else use Logitech Performance mouse MX?
