Has anyone here tried the Psyco headset? Is it worth the 300 dollars? is there something better quality in that price range?? I dont really care to much about the mic... since I rarely use one....

But I am looking for a top notch 5.1 or better headset.

So if someone can guide me in the right direction that would be awesome. Money isnt really an issue, but I wont spend much more than 400 on a headset...

I just think it looks ridiculous and can't see me ever wearing it, which is why I haven't bothered trying it.

You could also have a look into the Razer Megalodon, Logitech G35, and the Roccat Kaze.

On the other hand, if you don't care about the microphone all the much, you could go for a higher quality route, getting yourself something along the lines of the Sennheiser HD 650, although I don't know if such style will appeal to a gamer. Plus to really take advantage of it, you'll need to get a good amplifier, which can cost upwards of $200.

When you are going to spend 400 dollars on a headphone, there's really little point in getting a headphone advertised for gaming, because all gaming headphones are not built for high end sound quality, which is what is making high quality headphones expensive.

Surround sound in headsets is a gimmick, unless you get one that actually has multiple drivers, which means you have to compromise on driver quality.

Get a good stereo set like the Razer Carcharias. If it absolutely has to be surround, check out the Megalodon.

Also, if you plan to use a mic at all, do not get normal headphones and a clip-on or desktop mic, because you will regret it when everyone you ever talk to online tells you how crappy your mic is.

I'd recommend the G35s instead which I'm currently looking at. My friend has a pair and they're absolutely awesome.

I definetely don't think that Psyco headset is worth the money.

The G35 comes highly recommended in many reviews, even more recommended than the Razer Megalodon, so I'd recommend it.

Generally, the quality of a wireless headphone versus a proper wired one will be lower, so if you want good sound quality, I wouldn't bother.

hmmm can someone direct me towards a higher quality wireless headset?

I am asking this, because I sometimes have my lappy set up to my big screen to game... and the couch is kinda of distant from the TV..... and at night I need to be quiet,,, so it would be actually pretty sweet if they made a higher quality wireless head set.....

Sennheiser makes some pretty pricey ones... has anyone tried those? I just personally dont know how much Id use a microphone... even gameing i dont think Id use it much..... What games do ppl use them in?

totally off topic but has anyone tried those Klipsh Wireless 2.1 speakers?? I think those would be sick for outside gatherings... Lappy around the bondfire withs ome friends, and just pass it around and switch songs etc....
