I ordered an 17 widescreen and now I am looking for a nice ( 0-100 dollar) backpack.

Is it better to have a backpack or an normal notebook bag.

Do people see the different between een notebook backpack and an normal backpack?

    thanks

Backpacks are definitely superior in terms of function. They hold more, hold it more comfortably, and don't throw you off balance. I haven't even considered a messenger-style bag (which might be more popular).

The first one that comes to mind is this:

I have the Booq FoleeMessenger 17. It fits my needs better, but it's not in your price range. I'm not sure what their backpacks run. You can browse their site. http://www.booqbags.com/index.html

As for which to get...depends how you're gonna use it. Do you need to carry a lot of other stuff? How frequently will you be toting it? What's the travel like? Walking? Driving? Train? All of that makes a difference in the approach.

For a 17" notebook I'll suggest use a backpack coz its pretty heavy when you carry it on just one shoulder like a messenger bag. At least the backpack the weight is evenly distributed.

I'll highly recommend the Heys ePac backpack. They have a 17" bag and one model comes with wheels (ePac roller), just like a luggage that you pull, great for travelling if you don't want to carry it. And the wheels can be hidden when not in use. It has a thick padding on the back for great support. The shoulder straps are well padded. The notebook compartment has thick cushioned layers. It also an organizer pocket for your pens, calculator cellphones, etc. And also comes with a Techno Pod to put in your mp3 player. The list goes on....

I think this is the best laptop bag ... with a variety of cool colors. And its within your price range.

its really brands, ill look around campus just to see how many have it but targus, kensington, hp, and dell backpacks are what i see the most and you know they have a laptop on them. if being discreate is a priority of yours id look into a boutique laptop bag such as the booq, or just get a sleeve and put the laptop in your current backpack

I have the Dell backpack for my 9300, it fits well and it doesn't feel heavy on my back, I usually carry it from one side so that means no evenly distributed weight and the backpack hold its ground. You can take quite a few things in there too. It only cost me $39...perhaps now it's $59 but I haven't checked lately.

www.tombihn.com makes some great backpacks, messenger bags, and really nicely padded sleeves. Great service too.
