If i were you id go with Swiss Gear, i got one for my m1530, fits perfectly, well padded, and has seperate compartment for books and has straps to hug the contents so they dont move around.

I have three Swissgear backpacks and they are great for carrying laptops and/or textbooks. But a 16.4 inch notebook may be a little big for some of the Swissgear laptop bags. The Wenger is their model for 17 inch notebooks so you might take a look at that. I have three Swissgear backpacks. One is for up to 15.4 inch laptops. Another is a custom Swissgear pack for the Apple MacBook Pro 17 inch model called the Carbon. And the other is what my son uses for books and his 15 inch MacBook Pro. They've all been excellent performers and my kids have a preference for Swissgear.

If you want a bag which is comfortable and one which will last, go to a military supply store, and you will find great backpacks, which are extremely comfortable to wear. They may not be all that stylistic, but their backpacks are really built to last.
I have a military grade pack for my laptop, and I usually carry my 26 lb laptop, and about 8 lbs of books all of the time, and it feels like their is nothing on my back. This is because military bags have really padded shoulder straps. My bag is made of very thick canvas, and has a rubber lined interior, so the bag is completely waterproof.
If you can find a military supply shop, I would call them or stop buy and see if they have anything for you.
I picked my bag up for $30, and it is really made well. No laptop bag I have ever had was as comfortable or durable.

Trust me, they are some of the best made bags you will ever find. Their are no zippers on my bag, instead their are very large plastic clips, and they are much more durable. Usually backpacks are deemed junk after a year, cause of zipper failure, but with a bag with no zippers, their is no downtime. I have put my bag through hell the last two years, and it is great. I usually carry between 35 and 60lbs in it, and it shows absolutely no signs of wear.
The thing is completely made of canvas, and even stitched with canvas, so ripping the backpack is only possible if you cut it with a sharp knife.

Oh yeah, the bag says "Made in USA" inside,
