    Hello guys,

I recently want to buy a controller to play games on my asus n56, The following controller is under my consideration:
    - dualshock 3( playstation 3 wireless controller)
    - Xbox 360 wireless controller

I know for the ps3 one you have to use a custom driver( Motioninjoy). But I've heard bad things about it, many people said it would cause BSODs, meanwhile the others said it could cause you bluetooth, trackpad, keyboard non-functional. About the Xbox one, you have to buy a wireless adapter, but i can't get one in where i am.
So, which one do you guys recommend? it can be another brand, too.

That's a no-brainer: keyboard and mouse. :p Console ports on the other hand may benefit from console controllers... (just couldn't resist)

Never had much issue with the PS3 controller, You CAN use it USB and not have to use your bluetooth and this is how I did it since at the time the BT drivers were only for the controller and I would lose function of other BT devices.

I am sure by now its even better than it was.

As for 360 you do not NEED a wireless adapter unless you want a wireless controller, the usb version is basically plug and play and for most PC games that use a controller chances are they are designed with 360 controls already built into them.

360 Wired controller for the ease of use, as Vicious said, if there is a controller that is PnP, it's that one. Plug it in, run Windows Update, install the driver and you're good to go. Every steam game I have that has controller support works right out of the box with the 360 controller.

There are a few games I played using a controller, namely darksiders and sonic generations, it just felt right.

The Microsoft-licensed adapter is almost impossible to find at this point (most places just carry knockoffs), but the wired controller works just fine.

As far as why you would use one versus a KB/mouse, some games just work better with controllers. 3rd person games like Assassin's Creed and Arkham Asylum/City or racing/sports games are more comfortable to play with a gamepad, imo.

Best PC controller with best support out there is still the wired Xbox 360 controller.

I would say the dualshock 3 is ok. Motioninjoy works fine but the usabilty of the program sucks.

    - software is a web app
    - you have to enable the 360 emu everytime you start the program.
    - bsod are true but very rare
    - after your ds3 almost runs out of battery and you connect it with usb cable windows sees it as a second controller and ingame it becomes player 2 or non functional.

I dont have issues interfering with other hardware though.

xbox 360 controller is just great controller for most console designed games that you can play on computer.
