    thanks, for that.....

what i was trying to ask is. what are some cooling pads that will fit a 12 inch laptop. most of the cooling pads i see are for 14+ inch laptops and i dont have a lot of desk space. so thats why i specified 12 inch laptps. at the same time i dont want ti to be too small either.

sooner rather than later TX2(2500) will die of GPU failure
(lead free solder around the GPU)

a cooling pad if on sale for your next Laptop/Tablet is your best option

here is a picture of the underside of my laptop

although the hottest point is the top left with the cpu/gpu, overall the whole left half of the laptop gets really hot (where all the vents are).

how is the Notepal U2 or the Notepal X-lite for my laptop? any other suggestions? I dont want to spend more than $30.

I like how the X-lite has 1 large fan vs. 2 smaller fans. however will it be enough to reach the top left of my laptop?

since there are so many ventilation holes in my laptop, I was thinking blowing cool air (even if its toward the center) will end up going in and spreading all throught the laptop.

    what do you think?

I would recommend the X2 or E1 over top of either of those coolers for your notebook.

the E1 is not available in USA (i have checked with their customer support). and it looks to big for me anyway. My laptop is 12 inches.

So now its between the X2 or the U2. (or what else do you recommend)?

Which has a greater fan speed/better cooling? I dont care about noise, I just want maximum cooling ability. If you saw the picture of the underside of my laptop, i mentioned that one whole side of the laptop gets really hot, and the overall hottest point is the top left with the CPU/GPU.

with the U2 i would be able to target the top left where the gpu/cpu is. with the X2 it would hopefully expel air throughtout the base of the laptop and cooling it since the bottom of my laptop has many holes for air intake.

so what would you get in my situation?

X2 as you will hit more. note that it is about the same size (a bit smaller than the E1), a Zalman nc1000 would work pretty well, I have a friend using it with a 12", its big but it gets the job done since it has a ton of vents just like yours.

i had a hard time deciding and ideally would have liked to try both before deciding which to buy. but... couldn't do that so

I went ahead and ordered the u2. Since the hottest part for me is definetly the gpu/cpu area, I didnt want to risk getting the X2 and not having adequate airflow to that area. So at least with the U2 I will be able to target that problem area. and also its a smaller size overall than the X2 (I am on limted desk space so every centimeter is going to help).

I hope I made the right decision :)

I'll try to post some images from HWmonitor before and after to compare temps
