    ive seen tons of these
ive heard one of the most effective is the pacific breeze blue with leds , but i just wanted to know if theres a much better one out there

usb ports is not a must, the best cooling is what im looking for, portability is not important at all, it can have its own power supply i dont really care, just needs to cool

    thanks in advance

    ps its a 15.4 inch

    hp dv4170us

The best is the pacific breezer, but people don't like it, since it's noisy and consume a lot of power.
Another on-desk cooler is the Vantec.
A cooler which you can put on your lap, targus chill mate, it's very good.
But remember, most people use these coolers to make it's bodywork more coolers, the coolers will at most cool the inner parts by 3-5 degress.
If you want to do overclocking, the use of Arctic Silver 5 is suggested. But it'll kill your warranty.

Using Targus ChillMat here and no problems with it. I'm satisfied.

yeah the chill mat works ok but there's no very noticable temp drops.............it just keeps my laptop form overheating when I place it on my bed or a similar surface.

I really like the Vantec LapCool4 I have. The built-in card reader is coming in very handy right now since the card reader in my MX7515 cannot be used for ReadyBoost. It cools great as well.

I have the Vantec LapCool2. It was very useful in cooling my Acer 5670. But right now I only have a Clevo which has excellent cooling in itself, and with the cooler, it's always in the very early 30s.
