I'm canadian and im looking for the best laptop cooler I could buy for 30$ or less. My laptop is 14" inches. Id personally prefer to buy it on amazon. I was looking at a few including:

Cooler Master Notepal U2 Notebook Cooler with Two Fans R9-NBC-8PBK-GP: Amazon.ca: Electronics

    http://www.amazon.ca/Cooler-Master-Notepal-Notebook-R9-NBC-4WAK-GP/dp/B002MU1ZRS/ref=pd_cp_ce_3

If you guys would know of any better ones for the money Id appreciate it. If not then Id like if you would tell me which one is the best out of both. I find reviews are a bit dull.

    Thanks!

FWIW the U2 is fantastic for 3 reasons:

Aluminum = very durable. Including being stepped on and not bending.

Adjustable fans = you can move them around to align with almost any air intake vent on the underside of your laptop.

Portable = doesn't look like it (really, it doesn't), but you can use the U2/U3 as a kind of half-sleeve and tuck it away into a travel case or backpack. It helps protect it from nasty sharp objects and major bumps.

And in the case that the fans fail, you can just fix up your own fans with cheaper aftermarkets.

That said, I don't know if the smaller mesh surface of the R9 means better air flow than the U2, and that is definitely something to consider.

Thanks! I will probably buy the U2. One more question. would the U3 be worth the extra maybe 8 dollars for the extra fan?

The U3 is only $5 more than the U2. It all depends on the size of your laptop. I went for the U3 and spent $10 more and got 6 fans total.

I got a U3 in today and it must be working good. I lined up all the fans with the vents and my P170EMs internal fans dont have to come on while Im browsing. And it puts the keyboard at a nice typing angle too.

    I ordered a U3 the other day.

Aside from being able to move the fans where I needed, I liked that the USB could be chained with another device on the end freeing up a slot.

If your even a little crafty, look into building your own, customized for your computers cooling arrangement. I am getting ready to finish one that I built for my HP G-7. It's 4 fan, with a couple cheese cloth filters, in order to grab the dust before hand. It requires 12 vdc, self contained with charging/power socket. I will post pics when done.
