I'm looking for a good media remote for my acer travelmate 8002 so i can control windows media player and winamp thorugh a remote, but all ive seen are those that have receivers, but i dont wan all that extra hardware. Im trying to look fr remotes that go into the pc card slot and work thorugh your infrared, they look like the ones available in the new averatec 6200 and the hp dv1000. an recommendations are appreciated

If you have Bluetooth built in, buy a Sony Ericcson phone that had BT. You can use FMA and control your BT enabled computer, from your BT enabled phone. I've been using for a while and it works great. No line of sight either, so you can do it from another room.
