Anyone have advice on laptop sleeves?
The ones I am looking at right now are the sumdex, shinza zeroshock, and booq vyper. The sumdex has memory foam, the shinza has "high-impact polyurethane" (which might be the same thing as memory foam I'm not sure) and a wire exoskeleton, and the vyper looks pretty nice. I can't really tell which would would actually be better irl.

I did a review of the Sumdex, generally I liked it, and I think it's cheaper than the others.

I got the sumdex one you reviewed for my 14.1 inch widescreen v2000z at frys for $19.99 works very well but I dont like how they advertised... a 100g ball is = .22 lbs, lol the laptop can take that hit without a sleeve. Other then that, it looks/feels nice, does what it's supposed to, and is great for the price =)

Mines works great too, got it for $19.99 + 20% discount + free shipping on eBags.
US only though - I had it send to me using a US -> Canada postal service -
I got the sumdex too. I choose it over the shinza because of the handel. As far as a sleeve goes it does a good jov of light protection. The memory foam provides light protection despite all the falling 100gram balls your goinna encounter if you put it in a backpack you still gotta baby that mutha

check out www.tombihn.com if you want a thicker notebook sleeve with more protection.

Thanks for the input guys.
I saw the tom bihn brain cell sleeve, but I was concerned that it only protects in one dimension (either vertical or horizontal). If I took a spill or dropped it I'm not sure how the laptop would go down. He does have some nice bags though.
Does anyone have a shinza sleeve? Does the exoskeleton they mention on their site make a difference, or is it like the exact same thing as the sumdex? -
I too got the Sumdex mentioned above, but only used it for a day before I went out and got a Victornix Oxford backpack. I bought mine from Newegg and was disappointed with the "memory foam". Basically, the sleeve didn't have enough padding as I had hoped and didn't fit quite well in my very large Tumi messenger bag.

if u put it on hibernate and slip it in the sleeve, it shouldnt be too bad for a bit of time.

I like the Booq PowerSleeve. Stay away from the Vyper, though. I tried one and it was junk.
