Hey all, is it better to get built-in bluetooth 1.2 (~$55) or buy a separate USB bluetooth 2.0 + EDR adapter later if and when I need it ($30-$50 at local circuit city)?
Is there an advantage to built-in over USB (other than you gotta carry the USB stick around)?

Well there are advantages to external too.
They usually have better range. Some up to 100M
They are cheaper. As low as $20 online, sometimes less.
2.0 (since your built-in is a 1.2) will allow for a faster connection speed, in case you ever use it for file transefer. Plus the better audio.

By the way most USB dongles are pretty small. Not too annoying, BUT still something pointing out of your notebook.
