The controller doesn't come with a cable when you buy it, but the usb cable is a standard mini usb to usb cable, you probably have one of those lying around.

As for games where the controller won't work, i can't say since i use a 360 controller, but you'll need to use third party drivers, so i wouldn't be surprised if there were some games where the controller wouldn't work. Personally, i'd just get a 360 controller for PC since it's basically plug and play as far as the wired version is concerned.

If you want the PS3 layout, buy a Logitech F510 or F710. I do believe I already pointed that out to you in one of the (many, many) other threads you've created.

I use a combination of Logitech, 360, and PS3 controllers on my computer.

I have a DualShock 3 and use MotionInJoy, you could also use it wirelessly via bluetooth if you have the right dongle. MotionInJoy also allows your DS3 to emulate a 360 controller so you can play games that already configured for 360 controllers.

I personally use a wireless 360 controller and think it does the job nicely.

Anyhow, for games that don't support your controller...you can just use JoyToKey

You can use the Ps3 controller with Bluetooth using 3rd party free software.

Even though I own a PS3, i dont reccomend the controller. It feels dated and uncomforable. Go with the xbox controller it's far more comfortable, and does exactly the same thing. Plus you don't have to program anything to get it to work.

Agreed. I've tried both, and the 360 controller is so much easier, and for the most part seamless with the games that support it. With the number of console->PC ports these days (don't even get me started), I think you'll find that the 360 controller support is excellent.

For support and overall a better layout for most pc games 360 > PS3

I like the PS3 controller for wireless and for the better d-pad for some situations, but if I had to pick one 360 wins all the way.

Instead of getting a PS3 controller and managing 3rd party drivers and xbox controller emulators, I would recommend not swimming upstream for no reason. Get a 360 controller, which has specific support for many windows games, or at least something from logitech that is also made for windows.

I use a PS3 controller. And I do not have a PS3. I bought it specifically for gaming with my PC. I always use it by bluetooth. works flawless. never had a problem.
