Only way to do it is by using a TV Card with an input jack - say S-video and then use a media programme to display the input...

You'll get considerable input lag doing that, and the image quality won't be all that great either.

Standard TV image - lag, not necessarily - you an definitely record VHS via a TV Tuner Card - did that - and with a console he doesn't need to record just view the "stuff".

record/view is teh same thing(well, if you're recording without converting... like what Windows Media Center does)... you're just writing to a buffer (RAM or temp place in hdd) instead of writing to the HDD...

there definitely will be lag(between your controller and image)... depending on your device, maybe more, maybe less.... try to find something with onboard analog hardware decoding to speed it up...

tried it with my (long sold) Pinnacle USB TV tuner, component & svideo from a gamecube.... noticable lag with gameplay, not really recommended to use to play games unless you really don't have anything else to do

In my case its an old laptop - which is with my grandfather - I think it recorded to the HDD - "PowerDirector" and a PCMIA TV Tuner card.... use the Home Cinema software and you could view the stuff...

    1,7GHz Pentium M and a standard 80GB 5400rpm drive...

well, what i'm suggesting is that viewing and recording should be the same(amount of lag), unless you have some kind of conversion step in there which takes more processing power (and probably more lag)

I didn't notice any lag... yes, a short delay when I click "record" - but else its - to me - instantaneous... its not saving anything so... Just playing games shouldn't lag...
