Whats a cheap good notebook sleeve? I don't want my notebook to get stolen so I just want to get something that will give it some protection and then I'm going to put the notebook into one of my thin nikebags. Any ideas? At first I wanted to get the targus CVR200 which was like a standalone bag, but thats 1 pound. Which would offer better protection and sleeve or that? How thick are the sleeves exactly? Are they like hard or some thin material.

just look on ebags... they have a lot of choices
Don't forget to get a ebags coupon to reduce the price (you'll have to google them) -
what exactli is neoprene? like how thick would it be i want something thats like hard plastic

The cheapest I saw is from AXShop.com. It is around $10. The store is famous for slow shipping though.

the 14" sumdex one is $19.99 at frys and works well
-
@billcsho do you have it, do you like it?
@breezie do u have the sumdex one? it doesnt seem to fit a 14inch widescreen. what notebook do u use? i looked at the measurements
Interior: 12.75" x 10.25" x 2", my L2000 is 13.15x9.1x1.29
i went to circuit city today and i took a look at the targus one it looks nice, I don't know if it will fit into one of my nike drawstring bags. I might get a jansport bag and put the targus into it. I also saw a caselogic the material was harder. The targus one was really thin material. Still looking and trying to figure out what I should get. -

Can you say $10? The Case Logic Sleeve is sold for $20-$30 elsewhere.

lol i shoulda went there today and looked at cases too, i went case sighting today, is case logic better then sumdex, im liking the sumdex's memory foam and it seems it has high ratings and it does very well with protection.

You already plunked down 500-2500 for the computer. Consider spending a little more to make sure you have something that will protect a little better. For instance, this one is really expensive, but, if you've got a $1500 machine in it, possibly worth it:

I spent 1k on it but I want something that will fit into my nike bag as well to keep it hidden, nyc isnt exactly that safe from robberies, you never see anyone with a notebook on the train and if you do its like one person a year lol.
Nike bag is 16x14 so I need something that will fit into that. Cheapest so far I can find for the sumdex impactguard is ebags 19.99+3.99 shipping -
I have the sumdex one and so do a few of the other users here. I have a Compaq V2000z which is a 14.1" widescreen notebook AS WELL as the 12cell extended battery. It fits in the sumdex one very tightly and perfectly with no room to bounce around.

So, just to reiterate, it (sumdex impactguard) will *definitely* fit a 14" widescreen laptop? (the interior, I know, is 12.75 width wise and I hope/want to know if there's enough give for my laptop to fit in without being really hard to get in and out)
With these dimensions:
1.24-inches H × 13-inches W × 9.7-inches D
I ask b/c I'm in Canada and getting my uncle to bring it over when he comes over from the US in mid-Feb...and returns would be quite a hassle. -
people have tried it on a v2000z, so if you own one of those then it will fit, i ordered mine yesterday =), i have a l2000 which is the same dimensions as a v2000z.
-
ALright, I guess it should fit then, sinc ethe v2000z apparently has these dimensions:
13.15" (L) (w/hinge) x 9.1"(W) x 1.29"(H) front & 1.53"(H) rear
(Mine is actually a gateway mx3558/mx3560 with 20 less gb in space...)
I'm gonna order it t/m then too
