Go to an electronics store, they make wipes for screens. I like the Belkin branded product.

Hopefully you can remove the marks. You shouldn't clean a laptop screen with a commercial product unless the material explicitly states you can. Most LCDs are treated with chemicals that don't react kindly with commercial cleaners. Fellowes makes a laptop screen cleaner which is a tub of clothes soaked in a cleaning solution. Just about any microfiber cloth will also work provided you haven't used it to clean anything else that was excessively filthy. If worse comes to worse, there is nothing wrong with a spit shine. Just don't hawk a loogie or spit tobacco prior. [ :p]

I dont feel any special detergents or solvents are in order to clean your laptop screen. I use normal furniture polish and a duster with excellent results!

I use optical cleaner that is for eyeglasses.
It is 50/50 Iso alcohol and water. This is what IBM suggests.

I picked some up at Sears Optical with a microfiber cloth.
    Works great.

Hey Jsmit86, which brand of that optical cleaner did you buy?
My screen has a small stain of coffee about 5 milimeters long, but I see it gigantic.
    I can't have my baby filthy ...

I just wet a soft cloth with water and it cleans finger marks well. I also use a microfiber cloth for getting rid of dust and so on. The way I see it, you can't go wrong with the basics.

I actually use the cleaning solution that I get from my optomitrist for my eye glasses and a micro fiber cleaning cloth. This works great on dust and smudges but it does not scratch your screen. ;)
