Hello everyone. I recently purchased a 17" and was wondering which cooler would work best. I have been looking through the threads here and almost all of the cooling solution reviews are for 15" laptops. The ZALMAN are all for up to 15.4" and this seems to be the best from all the reviews. So which brand/model would work best for my rig? The vent/intake for the sager i bought appears to be in the far back right corner(its upside down so left and right are switched).
On a side note most of the cooling models that I have looked have the fans more in the center of the pad. Would it not be better if they made the fans closer to the back of the machine since this is where most intakes are located?

Most would say either the Zalman NC2000 or the slightly more powerful (and just for a little more extra $) Cryo NZXT.

Yes but the Zalman is rated for a 15" and I have a 17". And the Cryo NZXT seem to have power issues from other reviews. Does the size not matter?

yea the zalman nc2000 would be good for your laptop.

I was looking for one that worked under $40 last month. I found one, an Antec USB Cooler. I use it for my HP dv7. It keeps my laptop COLD. I haven't tested it with the dv7, but with my old 15" PowerBook the CPU was 62°C under load and I couldn't get it above 50°C with the cooler.
It hangs well over the edge with a 17", but it actually fits better than my old 15" and its only $25.
