As a general rule, is there a particulary good brand or brands of the cooler pad/fan assemblies you attach to the bottom of most laptops?
BTW: I forgot what the things are called.
Looks like a common problem for watching movies may be heating from what I have heard.

Look at the notebook cooler buyers guide, link in sig

Crimson Roses Notebook Evangelist
They're usually just called "notebook coolers"
I think Targus makes some good ones -
Actually Targus is notorius to have the worst notebook coolers. Zalman and Cooler master top the list followed by NZXT and Vantech
-
i know zalman makes good cooler products but are notebook coolers actually effective?
-
Very... points to review of zalman and buyers guide in sig... My gf got better number then me.. 15-25C degrees lower for her
-
I have passive Notebook cooler... a Radiation stand.

As mentioned, yes, but it heavily depends whether the cooler fits your notebook (ie. placements of fans). So there is no better cooler than other, its just what works best with your notebook.

I would said it must have more than one fan, and good low noise fans, not too heavy and easily to transport, perhaps something you can fold.
