    Hey guys,

im in the market for a laptop cooler as under heavy use it gets pretty warm. For now, i have been using my brothers vantec lapcool2, but it has a broken fan and whirs like crazy.

Ive been reading through different threads and googling to see what is out there. It seems to me that the majority of coolers out there are designed to suck air from under the laptop. Im wanting to blow air under it since thats where the intake fans are.

So far im thinking the options are:

    zalman
lapcool series? (this one blows...the others ive read suck.is that true?)
    pacificbreeze

the zalman and pacificbreeze look really nice but my concern is that 95% of the time, my laptop is on my lap as i work from the couch. would either of these be feasible?

if you something else that blows the air that i dont have listed, let me know how you like it.

I can tell you that the Spire Pacific Breeze is not suitable for anything but desk use. It's not a portable platform like some coolers are. You can see what I mean in the cooling guide - there are pictures.

if you are in any way handy you can actually make any of them blow...you can either open the case the fans are in, unscrew the fans, flip them over and scrw them back in...or you can open the case, and switch the power leads going to the fan and this will make the motor run in the other direction.

Or you can do what I do and that is on my desk I just have a small 6" Vornado Zippi fan with cloth blades that blows cool air at my laptop from behind. Keeps it cooler then a cooler pad. Plus it helps reduce the heat over the keyboard which can bother some people's hands. BTW, any el cheapo small fan will work. I just bought the vornado because it's pretty easy to throw in the bag when I travel because the "blades" are just soft material...
