    If I had the nerve to try doing Arctic Silver myself I might do it, but am extremely concerned about doing any damage so won't try it.

    Right now, of the metal coolers, are NZXT Cryo and Zalman NC 1000 considered of the better ones?

    NZXT Cryo is better cooling overall.
    Zalman NC 2000 is better thatn for HDD.
    Forget NC1k :)

    Actually quite mistaken.

    If you read the Notebook Coolers Buyers guide (read below) one cooler is not better then another one.

    The best cooler is different from notebook to notebook. What determines this is if the fans/vents of your notebook align with the fans/vents of the cooler.

    It is also important to point out that if fans/vents are aligned better it is better then higher CFM (faster air movement) as seen in the Buyers Guide as well as the Zalman NC2000 vs NC1000.
