I've bought some dust cap for my laptop port on Amazon, from unknown seller.
They are not very tough, but not very soft though. Could those dust cap,
rather than protecting the port from moisture, cause breakage or hurt to the ports??

My laptop is a new Lenovo

@kenny1999 if they sit tight and not wobble, they shouldn't. I personally use soft ones - to protect rarely used ports of my tablets from accidental moisture. They don't hold on VGA port at all, and I have to fit the HDMI cover upside down so that it doesn't fall off immediately. Good otherwise.

I don't see how silicone plugs can cause any damage to the port itself, but they are a pain to remove from certain ports when you need to use them. I bought a bunch for my laptops and some fit so snug that I need a guitar pick to remove them. The only damage I can see them causing is possible scratches around the port from trying to remove them.

Scratch is not a problem to me if it' only affects the appearance. I don't even use a screen protector if I have one free. But could those scratch affect the functionality of the ports??

No, I was referring to possible scratches around the ports, on the laptop's frame.
