I think there is a problem with my three months old dell U2711, sometimes during start up the left half of the screen shows up red during start-up. This lasts for about few seconds til the monitor actually shows pictures. This does not happen all the time, maybe around 10% of the time I turn my monitor or waking up from power-saving mode.

What's your connection method? DP / Dual-Link DVI?

Hmmm. If it works otherwise I'd leave it for now. I have lots of dual-link issues so I wondered if it was a DVI problem.

Mine doesn't do that, either through dual link DVI nor DP. Think you need to get that one replaced.

After I bought it off Ebay, I tried to transfer the warranty and that's when I found out.

Yeah that's what I like about Dell. The 1st replacement is always a lottery between refurb's returns and new, but if the 1st is bad they'll typically just send a new replacement.
