    I saw that the zalman NC1000 cost only 35 bucks at newegg but many people recommend the 2000, so I bought the 2000 for almost double. What are the differences between the two? I even ordered next day shipping because I want this thing NOW to cool my 3000 dollar m15x paperweight :)

    Edit: found the answer from google and it linked me to NBR (search is my friend i guess). Apparently I just spent an extra 30 bucks for a bigger version that has a compartment for the usb and that is it. I think for a 15.4 in the nc1000 is better. Save some cash

    Yeah, I don't know why someone with a 15" notebook should buy the NC-2000. I have the NC-1000 and just recently got the 2000, but that is because I have the 17" m9750 and I was tired of my notebook barely fitting on top of my cooler.

    NC2000 = 17"
    NC1000 = 15.4"

    If u buy NC2000 for 15.4" i dont know what advantage you will have

    Actually, the m15x is bigger than a normal 15'' laptop. Had you gone with the nc1000 your computer would have hung off the side. The bigger cooler is the smarter choice as it will fit better and therefore cool better (and provide more stability).

    Just saying.

    NC2000 for 17'' laptop; check the dimension 318(L) x 400(W) x 42.5(H)mm
    NC1000 would be better for most 15.4'' laptops, and its dimensions are 308(L) x 330(W) x 40(H) mm.

    The only place I found with a reasonable price for the NC2000 was zipzoomfly.com and they are out of the black version. Can anyone suggest another reliable site where I can find a reasonably priced Zalman 2000?

    After purchasing/using the Zalman NC1000/NC20000, has anyone used their laptops outside more often than before?

    yes, its essentially a bigger nc1000. unless you have a 17" laptop i think the nc1000 is fine.

    However i kinda like the idea that you can plug the USB on either side of the nc2000.
