hi, do you turn off/switch to standby your speaker when not in use?
or you can't be bothered and turn it off only when you're going on holiday, or will not use it for some time?

i have a logitech Z-2300 and the standby switch don't seems to last long if i switch it on/off everytime i turn my computer on/off. everyday. how much power does "on" consumes anyway?

It depends on where the speakers are. Half the time the speaker with the power button is lying in front of my second monitor, and half the time it's standing BEHIND it. When it's behind the monitor, well, it's way too much of a pain, so I don't touch it unless I start getting annoying sound interference bleedthrough.

I have the 2300s and I always turn them off. Its not because I worry about the electronics but its just for the environment. Not to sound like a tree hugger but leaving it on still takes some energy and while it may not be a big deal if only you do it but it takes a toll when everyone does. Especially if you leave alot of other electronics on "stanby".

I don't think I ever bother to turn them off, even when shutting down the computer. Maybe if I know I'll be gone for over a week, then I shut down everything by turning off the power strip and unplugging it. But manually powering off the speakers I don't bother doing.

I usually leave my Z3s on during the day, off and night, and most certainly off if I will be gone for a while.

I turn off and unplug my speakers every time when they are not in use. Already have too many other electronics plugged in and it's a way to conserve energy.

There was a time when my wife and I left our PC speakers on almost 24/7. It was a very stressful time, so we had several Buddhist chants set to quietyl loop continuously.

I use a digital amplifier so standby losses are very low. Doesn't save much to turn them off - they effectively turn themselves off.

Most things that pull power when "off" are things that can be turned on with remotes. If there's no remote, the energy savings are probably negligible or nonexistent when you unplug vs. just turning off.

I used to turn mine off when my speakers had a dedicated power button but now power is integrated with the volume control so I just leave them on overnight.
