    Don't see the need for either. Just cleaning the screen with foam cleaner and wiping the keyboard with rubbing alcohol every so often, and just taking decent care of the laptop. don't really see the point in protectors.

    Unlike a tablet such as an ipad, I reckon laptops do not need screen protectors/filters unless it is used for the purpose of making a glossy screen less reflective.

    Ditto. I'd be interested in a glare-cutting screen protector myself, but I can't seem to find one locally. Otherwise I wouldn't be interested. A laptop screen is pretty well-protected unlike a cellphone's or a tablet's, so all I do is spritz on some cleaning solution (I use Antec's) and wipe it down with a microfiber towel every now and then.

    yes.. just keep them clean... keyboard protector keeps the sweetness out of tapping and I am using HP2530p!

    Screen protectors never really interested me. I make it a point to give the screen a gentle and light wipe with a high-quality microfiber cloth ( I use the one Apple shipped, and one I got from moshi) every once in a while, when I am using my laptop ( which happens to be all the time, literally!). I also NEVER touch the screen with my fingers. That does maximum damage to a screen, the oil and sweat and dirt. So, my screen is pretty clean all the time. The keyboard on the other hand is a different story. You can't avoid touching your keyboard. And it does get oily stains every once in a while from the sweat and what not. But I simply use a damp, but well squeezed out, microfiber cloth to give it a firm but gentle wipe. That removes all stains. Just keep it clean, and don't type on it while you are eating a sandwitch or burgers or something of the sort. I don't use keyboard protectors because with chiclet type keyboards, especially on the MBPs a lot of air flows out from between the gaps. Putting a plastic cover on it will drastically reduce the air-flow and heat up the laptop. Apple explicitly mentions it in their documentation- " Never put anything on the keyboard while you are using your Macbook Pro." Cleaning is a better solution, and much less painful than fried internals or heat-warped keys. :)
