Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right forum too post this but...

I'm not sure if it's normal if I plug in a eSATA HDD to my laptop when it is already booted into Windows 7, it doesn't show up in Computers folder.

But when I restart the computer, or turn on the external HDD before turning on the laptop, the external shows up in Windows 7...

    Is that normal?
    Thank you,

It should be plug and play, if it doesnt get detected though try running the add hardware wizard.

I always have to go into device manager and scan for changes.
