i'm looking for a decent sound experience. Only problem is i don't want to break te bank for it. But on the other hand i do have quite high demands, so please tell me if it is even possible. I prefer earplugs so no big bulky heavy headphones, and i want them to have some kind of noise cancelling ability. I'm talking here about the usual house noise, so a vacuum cleaner, kids, etc.
I don't know how high i have to go but i would prefer to not go above 40 euro.

Please don't get the Sony's - no highs and ott bass...but I suppose that's what the kids like :p

I got Panasonic HJE50's off eBay for a bargain £20...I presume Euro prices are about the same

i suppose you can go for either low end shures or low end ultimate ears..shure's have superior highs and mids compared to ultimate ears superior bass..so depending on your preference

Without wishing to empty your wallet, on www.head-fi.org, it's not so much brands but the model

I could throw the Sennheiser PX100/200 into the ring for headphones

well LFC....that's what had come to mind at the time. As a matter of fact, I hate Sony audio products.

If you can afford, I would get some Shure e2C earphones.

If you're looking for cheap and cheerful IEM's (In Ear Monitors aka canalphones) I'd add the Creative EP-630 or the Sennheiser CX300's to the list. Both excellent for the money, and way better than the Sony EX series.

motte i've had ultimate ears but they ended up dying on me by way of bad quality control..plastic housing kept cracking and RMAed twice..though i seem to be one of the few..if i ever buy again i'd stay with shures since my e3c's going on 5 years are in great condition compared to the 6month old busted UE's..to make a long story short i bought some 10 buck koss ksc-75..not ear plugs..but cheap and good enough...they're street style btw

If your strapped for cash; the Sennheisers are the best option. If you can spend a bit more, get the Shure E2c's. The Shures are awesome earbuds, and really block outside noise, and if not careful in surroundings, can allow you to lose train of thought(so quiet, cant hear outside noises)
