I have a old Dell latitude and I'm traveling to Germany. I know a need a power adapter. However do I need a power converter also? It is a US laptop so it uses 110V 60 Hz. Germany is 230V 50 Hz. My plug has a black box in the middle of is that says INPUT: 100-240V 50-60 Hz. Does this mean my plug converts the voltage? Does this mean all I need is a power adapter like this one? Thanks.

Depending on where you are going, you could ask if someone in your destination has a spare power cable you could borrow while you are there. I mean the cable from the wall plug to the charger :)

This, or maybe buy a spare European cable if it isn't too expensive.

also it depends on which european country. plugs are not equal in every country. also asking for a cable depends on the charger socket. they are not equal in every charger too.
