    i was wondering if anyone has tried this cooler since it was the only normal cooler I could find for a 17 inch widescreen notebook.
    It seems nice from the pics but I don't know how functional it is.
    From the manufacturer's website it seems that they are really dedicated to cooling products.

    btw, i'm thinking of getting a hp dv9000 notebook

    What constitutes a 'normal cooler'? Doesn't seem any different from the dozen or so other active notebook coolers out there.

    I don't think the dv9000 is available any more (unless youre buying second hand). It was replaced by the dv9500 model.

    by normal i mean cooling pad that can be used on your lap and is compatible by dimensions to the 17inch widescreen notebooks.

    dv9000 is still available at hp.com but only the dv9000z with amd processor

    its pretty hard to find a notebook cooler that fits a 17" notebook
