hello i am looking to buy an external monitor to connect to my m1530 XPS laptop and was looking for some advice, i don't no much about them.

like can you get monitors with a hdmi input seeing my laptop has a hdmi output or will i just use the normal monitor connector.

i will be using it mostly for media and games, would like to run a game on the external monitor and have msn etc on my laptop if that is possible. i have the 8600m gt is that makes any difference.

thanks in advance for any reply's :)

Yes, you can use the XPS's HDMI port to connect to monitors and HDtv's.

Usually only 24" monitors and higher come with HDMI input.

HDTV's usually have a limited refresh rate of 30hz so it wont be as good as gaming on a 60hz monitor
