do you ever feel that your laptop is more vulnerable being in this position?
do you evre find yourself carrying many large textbooks and worry about your laptop?
do you have to carefully place your bag down everytime and make sure it is on its base for fear of the bag laying on its back and all the weight of the bag being on your laptop?

    thanks!

I own a Heys ePac17 (side loading for my Sager 5750).

No I do not. My notebook is always off when I put it in my bookbag and I don't think that putting it sideways in a well padded compartment makes it vulnerable.

I've carried a lot of books with me and I've never worried or had a problem with it.
Look at this topic for pictures of how much stuff I can put in my ePac17.

I "carefully" place my bag down (I don't just drop it from my back to the floor or throw it on my bed). The bag itself will tip forward when it's on the floor (meaning that the notebook will be on top of the books and not the other way around).

I hope this answered your questions.
