I just got my G700 in the mail and its amazing. I saw a review of it on newegg and it contained some interesting thoughts:
Newegg.com - Logitech G700 Black 13 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB RF Wireless Gaming Mouse
Should I reduce it to 500 also? I don't want my CPU bogging down. I never once thought that a mouse could decrease performance!

i dont think your i7 920xm will bog down from the increase in polling rate.
-
I assigned all my buttons to generic button and aside from mouse 3, 4, and 5 the other buttons don't allow me to do anything. I tried to bind them in WoW with no dice. -
Niceee ! Please review the battery life and post some pics of your hand holding it
Thanks
Yeah , 1000Hz only usable for some intense FPS games, for else, 500Hz is way more than enough.
it will also make your battery life last longer IMO
Edit: I read the review and I think it's 1000Hz default in Game mode/profile -

I want this mouse! Did you get it from newegg? Make sure to post a thorough review! -
Got it on newegg. After using it for a few hours and figuring things out, I'd say it's the most amazing mouse I've ever used.
-
How's the side grip feels? (texturized plastic)
engadgets don't like it but other reviews like it. -
-
but seeing where I am now,
I need to wait longer before it shows up here -
If you want to paypal me some cash for shipping and have it shipped to me, I'd be more than happy to ship it to you.
-
but the more I think of it, it's better if I buy it locally, because of warranty and cost (customs fee & everything) -
Yea, I forgot about the warranty and customs. How much does customs generally cost? Does anyone know what it'd even cost to ship a small package to Indonesia? Does cost raise contingent upon how far away the country is? In the US, the cost of shipping doesn't raise if you ship to a further away state. The only difference is the tax that state incurs.
Edit: Why can't you just order the mouse from newegg? They won't ship it to you? -
Have you ever used the G9? Would be nice to hear if you have something to compare it to that I can relate to. I loved my G9 when I first got it back in the day but I feel it would be great to have a wireless mouse for my notebook.
Did you get the issue with binding keys figured out?
Hows the quality of the mouse? Does it feel like you're using a world class piece of hardware or is it just the features making you fall in love with it? -
-
All of the binding issues got resolved, I just was doing it wrong.
Everything about this mouse is making me fall in love with it. I love how you can change whether or not the mouse wheel clicks individually (for switching guns in an FPS) or scrolls seamlessly (for scrolling web pages) with the click of one button (under the mouse wheel there's a "gear shift" button).
I love how when I go into WoW, the buttons that were being used to adjust my DPI in FPS's are now spell keys and no matter what I had my DPI set to in the previous app, it changes to the constant that I set it to for WoW.
The mouse is light, but doesn't feel cheap at all. Its quality hardware. I've never in my life used a mouse this great. Its not just for a "notebook" its for anyone who wants a top notch computer mouse.
I may not have used some of the weird brands like RAT or whatever, but from what others have told me, this blows those out of the water unless you need like a 10,000DPI mouse, which I don't even understand. I don't use any higher than 1400! -

Honestly that sounds a lot like the G9 and how I feel about it.
It has the ability to change the scroller, customize any button based on profiles that automatically launch, has the adjustable weight, grips can be swapped between textured and smooth, and it has the nice LED screen to let you know what DPI you're at.
Keep in mind though I'm not saying like the g700 sounds like a bad mouse and I could very well end up with one as a notebook mouse. Right now its between the Razer Mamba and the Logitech g700. I loke the look of the Mamba more but its need to have that large base plugged in keeps it from being a true wireless notebook option so the g700 still has a strong foothold. -
For what it's worth, the Mamba's dock slips easily into a backpack or even a pocket if you wear baggy pants. It's really no bigger than the mouse itself.

I go to college and ive heard jokes and teasing of the guy who brought his mamba to class and set it up with his big dock, they said he looked ridiculous. Oh and not to mention his oversize goliathus mouse pad.
-
The G700 has a gaming laser that can be used on any surface. Ne need for a mousepad in class!
Also, something to worry about when moving your laptop with a wire connected to it: What happens when you're walking with your laptop to another room and that wire gets caught on the door knob, snags your laptop right out of you hand onto the floor. Dead.
This has happened, to people I know. Be careful. -
-
The cord for the G700 has a nice little velcro patch around it that helps keep it compact. I use the mouse wired while it charges and half the time I just leave it on because I forgot about it. Its a really great setup. -
