Yeah, im looking for a cheap gaming mouse pad. Cheap meaning, under 25$, but the cheaper the better. I am really looking for something that will allow my sidewinder x8 to work at its fullest potential. I am pretty good at FPS, but im using my x8 on my plain wood desk, and it just doesn't seen like that is my best option, so now im looking for a mouse pad.

    Thanks.

The Razer Goliathus is great if you like soft pads. It comes in both Speed and Control varieties, and three different sizes, all of which are $25.

The Sphex is pretty good too. It's more like a desktop skin than a mouse pad, because it doesn't really raise the height of your mouse surface at all. It just sticks on your desk surface. The texture is pretty smooth. I believe it's $15.

my vote goes to Steelseries Qck series. But you should try the surfaces before you buy. It's personal preference when it comes to surface.

I've read many reviews that say it comes rolled up in the packaging and won't lay flat. Is this true?

No, they get flat, just put it under some heavy books or something heavy and flat for a few hours, did the trick for me...

I got the Qck mini mat at Gamestop for a penny, thats right $0.01 at the store... check your local stores for this mat because they said they are just trying to get rid of them and no one buys them... check it out, it was probably the best purchase related to computer stuff for me lol

    cool, thanks for the responses.

but i actually also heard that, that the qck series comes rolled up and wont ever get fully unrolled and flat...

that was the only thing keeping me from buying it, but now i will reconsider.

ok... seems like i should say this...

i have a sidewinder x8, and they are known to be picky with mouse pads. does anyone who owns/uses a sidewinder x8, (and is into gaming) have any ideas on a mouse pad for me? thanks
